Composed and recorded over 2 months in 2019, Tales of A Traveller is my debut solo album. Combining aspects of traditional Persian and Hindustani classical music with influence from modern contemporary jazz and post-classical composers.
A reflection of the wide variety of artists I was exposed to during my studies at the NZSM Te Koki, Tales of A Traveller draws inspiration from Middle Eastern/Eastern European ethnojazz composers such as Avishai Cohen and Tigran Hamasyan, as well as neo-classical and minimalist pianists/composers such as Ludovico Einaudi, Nils Frahm, and Ryuichi Sakamoto.
